Latin: Tabebuia spp.
Lignin character and use: diffuse-porous wood. Air-dry density is about 0.92-1.15g/ cm³, with great stability in lumber size, the lumber is heavy or to quite heavy, great wear-resistance, high intensity, anticorrosive or to more anticorrosive and anti-termite, little obvious discrimination in lignin-hue between the core and margin. When the lignin core is fresh, it is olive brown, and then it will get to dark brown or maroon with moss green thin stripes, the margin lignin-hue is oyster white, ivory or sandy beige and beige, the growth ring is slightly obvious. The lumber luster is from light to mid, no special smell and taste, generally the texture is irregular straight and deeply interlocked, the structure is delicate or to mid, slightly even and oil sense. |
