Latin: Hymenaea spp.
Lignin character and use: diffuse-porous wood. Air-dry density is about 0.86-1.07g/cm³, with great stability in lumber size, mid weight, high intensity, anticorrosive and anti-termite, obvious discrimination in lignin-hue between the core and margin. When it is fresh, the lignin is red or salmon pink, when it's dry it will getting chocolate and generally with dark brown and thin stripes, the margin lignin is oyster white or off-white, and the growth ring is obvious. The lumber is with lustrous, no special smell or taste, straight or alternate texture, the more delicate and little even structure. |
