Latin: Tectona spp.
Lignin character and use: ring-pored wood to half-ring-pored and dry wood. Air-dry density is about 0.51-0.70g/cm³, with great stability in lumber size, mid weight, high intensity, anticorrosive and anti-termite, obvious discrimination in lignin-hue between the core and margin. Generally the core lignin is light brown or brown, long time then will transfer into dark brown and the margin lignin is brown with light red. The growth ring is obvious with lustrous and light leather smell, no special smell or taste, the oil touch feeling, the straight texture and slightly interlocks, and mid-to-thick structure. |
